Antara

Music licences for Indian venues

For restaurants, hotels, and events

If customers can hear the music, you need a licence.

Most rooms play recorded music and never ask. Antara matches the songs you will play to the societies that list them, then points you at the published tariff for your venue — so you know who to licence with before the night starts.

A licence is required

Playing recorded music for guests is a public performance. The societies that represent those recordings and works expect a licence.

The song and the recording

The tune on paper and the track on the album are licensed separately. A hit can sit with more than one society.

The tariff is a published PDF

Each society publishes schemes by venue type. We match your venue to those documents so you can open the right one.
